Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Jed Wallace and midfielder George Saville have now both penned permanent terms with Millwall.
Wallace comes in for an undisclosed fee and following his two loan spells in 2015/16 and 2016/17 he has signed a three year deal.
Speaking to the official site as his signing was announced, Wallace explained.
‘The move is something that’s been in the pipeline since January when I arrived back on loan. I felt settled as soon I came back – the surroundings were familiar for me. I know all the lads and I get on well with the manager, so I’m delighted to be here for the next three seasons; hopefully we can have many more good times.’
Having enjoyed himself at the club during his loans, the 23 year old went on to say it was a no brainer to sign permanently.
‘I know I can affect games at Championship level and I know the manager is going to give me the opportunity to do that here. It was a bit of a no-brainer to sign. It’s been a good break, but I’m looking forward to getting back in for pre-season training. We didn’t want the season to end after being on such a high. It’s a massive season for myself and for us.’
Manager Neil Harris was obviously delighted to have captured his man.
‘Jed is a great young man. He’s had two loan spells at The Den and thoroughly enjoyed his time here – he was adamant he wanted to come back, too. His desire to come and play for Millwall has been really strong. I think everyone has seen the attributes he brings and will bring to Championship football. He’s a natural wide player, has pace, energy and work ethic and also end product. That’s going to be really key towards us having a successful year in The Championship.’
24 year old Saville also comes in from Wolves on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee having also had two loan spells in recent years at The Den.
‘I’m very happy and really looking forward to getting going. The manager wanted me in for the first day of pre-season and that makes everything easier for me and the boys. I’m delighted to be back down south. I know a few of the boys already – it’s a good club with good staff. There’s a buzz around the training ground following promotion – everyone is confident and excited to get going again.’
Harris added about his capture.
‘I’m really pleased. George is well-known to us as he has been here as a player before. He had a really successful loan with us and we’ve monitored him ever since. We like to bring in players that know us and that we know and as soon as we knew of George’s availability, it was a no-brainer. He’s another player of a good age with really good potential. He played almost 30 games in The Championship last season, too, so he has experience.’
