Millwall have today confirmed that Harry Smith has completed his move to The Den from Folkestone Invicta.
The 21 year old striker comes in for an undisclosed fee having impressed manager Neil Harris during his trial with us that began mid July.
He also took in appearances against Dulwich Hamlet, Dover Athletic and Greenwich Borough.
In 2015/16 for Folkestone he scored 13 times in their title winning campaign, having had a good start to the season with Sittingbourne in the first half of the year.
The 6ft 5in player has signed a two year deal at the club, and speaking to the official site after the deal was concluded, Harris explained.
‘We are delighted to get Harry on board. He was flagged up by our recruitment department and has done well since he came to us during pre-season. Harry has the attributes to be a very good footballer but there is still a lot that he has to improve on as a player. Physically he is a good size but his technical abilities are clear for all to see as well, so the potential is there.’
HE added.
‘But potential is only one thing in football and it takes time to fulfil it. He will have to work hard with us and at the same time we will have to be patient with him as he looks for chances to get into our first team.’
