Millwall played a behind closed doors friendly today at the Bromley training ground against Aldershot as we continue our preparations for the coming season.

The hot and humid conditions would certainly have helped on the fitness front, and it did prove to be another good run out for the team, with plenty of positives to take from it.

Following his first 45 minutes of pre season in the game against Stevenage, striker Scott McDonald opened the scoring after ten minutes of the match as he headed in a Lee Martin cross.

The lead didn’t last long though as Aldershot hit back almost immediately, when a shot from distance snuck past keeper Stephen Bywater.

Millwall kept plugging away though and despite other efforts – namely a deflected Martin shot that went straight to the keeper, and another delivery from him that brought a header from Mark Beevers – we finally got our reward in the 32 minute when that man Martin provided again, this time feeding the ball to Jermaine Easter, who cut it back for summer signing Lee Gregory to score his first for the club from four yards.

Five minutes later we added to our advantage and Martin figured again. He cut the ball back to Josh Wright this time, and from the edge of the box the midfielder put it into the top corner with a first time strike.

The clear man of the match almost topped things of with ten minutes remaining, but Martin’s effort cannoned off the woodwork, and a second chance was tipped onto the bar by their keeper.

Millwall:

Bywater, Siafa, Webster, Beevers, Malone, Williams, Wright, Easter, McDonald, Martin, Gregory.
