Striker Jermaine Easter grabbed his third goal in as many games as Millwall saw off the challenge of Spanish side Real Mallorca yesterday evening.
There would’ve been plenty of positives for manager Ian Holloway following the tightly contested game and he’ll have been pleased to have the opportunity to get game time into 24 players again as we have just over a week left before we kick off the Championship season properly.

Speaking after the game Holloway said himself of the night’s activities.
‘I’m delighted with the game. The lads trained for an hour and a half this morning and I then played them for 45 minutes and you won’t get a tougher test than that. The young lads worked well and we looked coordinated, particularly in the first half.’
Holloway goes on to say that he’s not sure where Mallorca are in their own preparations but he was delighted to see them play and move the ball around as they did, because he knows that helped make it a very tough game for us so he was pleased to see us chase, and press them as we did.
If there was any disappointment from the game, it was simply that we didn’t increase the score line because the gaffer knows we had good opportunities to do that in both the first half and the second.
‘I’m really pleased, the second half didn’t look that much different with some young ones playing. I thought Aiden O’Brien and Josh Siafa did really well. They’ve come a long way since Dartford and I just wanted to show our fans the news ones and some of that stuff I was really pleased with. You could see the work that we’ve managed to do.’
With Richard Chaplow and Nicky Bailey both limping out of the game, Holloway said he hoped that the injuries were nothing too serious for either of them but he’s confident that if they are missing for a bit, we have the depth to cope with it.
