Striker Scott McDonald left Millwall yesterday for the first time after coming to an agreement to mutually terminate the remainder of his contract.
The 31 year old Australian leaves us as a free agent having joined us in the summer of 2013. In his time at the club he made 60 appearances, scoring six times – three of which came this season.
A statement from the club wishes him the best for the future and thanks him for his efforts in our shirt, and he told the official site as he departed.
‘I’d like to thank everyone at Millwall and in particular the fans for their support. I had some memorable moments here, not least scoring the winner at Charlton last season, which was certainly a good feeling. I would like to wish the manager and the lads the very best for the rest of the season and I’ll certainly be hoping they can move up the table and stay in the Championship.’
