Millwall announced ahead of the game against Sheffield Wednesday last night that winger Lee Martin was now set to see a specialist following the injury he has with his foot.

The player picked up the stress fracture in the game against Leeds United earlier this month, and his recovery hasn’t quite gone to plan yet, so the decision has been taken to send him to see a specialist to try and get to the bottom of it and then get him back in action as soon as possible.

Physio Bobby Bacic explained in his programme notes for the Wednesday game.

‘Lee missed Saturday’s game against Fulham, which was as a result of a very small stress fracture of his third metatarsal. Lee is in a similar position to Shaun Cummings in that if the injury worsens it would result in a longer, more serious injury.’

Therefore a specialist visit has been booked for this week and even if that doesn’t discover anything, as yet unknown, it’s not expected that he will be back in action until just before the coming international break.
