Speculation surround ‘the Hof’ has been building in recent days and it’s now being reported that he has signed a short term deal back at The Den.

There are no great details yet about the 6ft 7incher, but it is said by the South London Press that a deal has now been agreed – and it was potentially signed this afternoon – for him to return for a second spell at the club, and in doing so he’s turned down other Championship clubs as well as a Scottish Premier League side.

The 32 year old proved a crucial part of our Great Escape last season from relegation, but he remains in Austria at the moment, and it’s said the man who scored twice in seven starts for us, could be back in for the weekend and make his re-debut when we face Blackpool at the weekend.

More will be known over the next day or so I imagine.

In other rumour news, we are being linked with Reading Jamaican international full back Shaun Cummings.

A former Chelsea player, Cummings is well known by coach Nigel Gibbs from his time at Reading, and with him being out of contract in the summer, as well as having three right backs on their books, it’s said Reading are looking to cash in this month.

The 25 year old has made 71 appearances for them, scoring one.

Charlton manager Bob Peeters has also confirmed that transfer talks have been held with us over striker Simon Church, but he expects him to remain with the club inspite of that.

Their manager said of the 26 year old.

‘There was some interest there, at this moment there is a big difference interest and him going. I think there was some talking between his agent and Millwall, but he trained with us today and if everything stays like today he will be in the squad on Saturday.’
