Millwall’s League 1 season continued with a win against Fleetwood at the Den on Tuesday.

A top six finish isn’t yet secured for Millwall but it’s not far off now.

Beating struggling Fleetwood one-nil means the Lions are almost assured of an end of season play-off spot.

Fleetwood almost took the lead through Bobby Grant’s when his volley hit the crossbar, which having survived the scare Millwall went ahead through Steve Morison when he chipped over Fleetwood keeper Chris Maxwell in the 52nd-minute.

That goal proving to be the winner to take us up to fourth, only three-points ahead of Barnsley in seventh but with teams between us and with only three-matches left to play of the regulation season it is looking positive for Millwall now.

Here’s a round up of the League 1 action from the other games played in midweek….

These were the other results.

Tuesday 19th April 2016
Barnsley 1-0 Peterborough
Burton 1-1 Wigan
Chesterfield 1-1 Doncaster
Coventry 1-0 Bradford
Crewe 1-1 Colchester
Millwall 1-0 Fleetwood
Rochdale 1-1 Gillingham
Scunthorpe 2-1 Bury
Shrewsbury 1-2 Sheff Utd
Southend 0-1 Oldham
Walsall 1-1 Swindon

A top of the table battle between Burton and Wigan (one-one) at the Pirelli Stadium saw both retain the automatic promotion places, the Latics leading the way with Walsall (one-one) missing the chance to close in on them when they drew at the Banks’s Stadium against Swindon.

This automatic promotion battle could go all the way!

A play-off battle is also likely to go to the wire but Millwall (one-nil) are almost assured of a place following a one-nil win over relegation threatened Fleetwood.

Bradford (one-nil) dropped points when beaten at Coventry with Gillingham (one-one) just about clinging on to the final place at the moment but Barnsley (one-nil) are right on their coattails after the Oakwell win against Peterborough.

Oldham’s (one-nil) win at Southend leaves them looking good for survival now but Shrewsbury (two-one) are still very much in trouble with that Sheffield United win keeping alive faint, albeit unlikely, hopes the Blades have of a play-off place.

Colchester’s (one-one) draw at already relegated Crewe leaves the U’s almost confirmed as joining them in going down with Chesterfield (one-one) keeping themselves away from trouble whereas leaving Doncaster on the brink.

Who was the Lions MotM in this game?

That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.
