With most playing 42 League One games in the 2016/17 season, this year could still see a few players break the 20 goal mark.
With goalscoring so far this season, the Golden Boot race is pretty much a three or four player race with Billy Sharp (Sheffield United), James Vaughan (Bury), Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United) and Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers) best placed to take the recognition this season.
Sitting on 15 and 14 goals respectively, Lee Gregory (Millwall) and Erhun Oztumer (Walsall) can’t be ruled out though and with games remaining a few players could potentially make a late run on Sharp’s 25 goals so far this year but sitting on 13 goals or below I think, short of some brace and hattrick runs of form, we can now discount them.
So limited to those with twelve or more strikes so far this campaign, here’s how the table currently sits.
