Steve Lomas has explained that he feels the international break came at the right time for Millwall given the injuries we have to contend with.

Speaking to the official site the manager explained that on one hand, following the performance against Brighton, he would have liked to have kept that momentum going because the game almost resulted in our first win of the season, but with so many players out injured, the fortnight break has given them time to get closer to a return which will benefit us in the long run.

‘We had players with minor niggles, and the fortnight’s break has also allowed Steve Morison to get closer to fitness after his operation, so it was a mixed blessing I suppose.’

Morison is back in training now following his operation, but the club haven’t made a decision on when he’ll be back in contention, but I doubt it’ll be too long although obviously we don’t wan to rush him and then suffer a breakdown and further complications keeping him out for longer.

With the loan of Martyn Waghorn, it should buy him a week or two to ease himself back into things in any event.
