Martyn Woolford has said that home form at The Den will be absolutely key for Millwall this season, and non more so than when we face off against Burnley.

Millwall have picked up seven points from a maximum of nine points available in our recent games since things started to click, or we got our act together – whichever way you look at it, and Woolford like all members of the camp want to continue that run and keep giving the fans something to shout about at the final whistle.

Speaking to the official site Woolford said that it was plainly obvious that any team who wishes to have some success in the league during a season, needs a solid home form to fall back on and he admits that since he’s been at the club that hasn’t always been the case, but everybody has taken confidence from the signs in recent games that we might be ready to really put that problem to bed and turn The Den into a fortress for us.

‘There has been signs in recent games that we are beginning to turn a corner here. The crowd are an important factor, and we know that if we are at it from the first minute then the fans will respond and back us. It’s up to us to come out of the blocks firing.’

Like Robinson before him when talking about the game, he also admitted that Millwall won’t spend too long worrying about the strengths that Burnley will bring to the match, and whilst we’ll show them the necessary respect, our focus will be on replicating the levels we have shown in recent games and looking to play to our strengths so we upset them, rather than being timid and worrying about what they might do to us.
