Manager Ian Holloway has called on the Millwall team to provide an upset when we face Derby County this weekend.

The odds are firmly stacked against us with the opposition looking towards promotion and we are looking for an increased breathing space in the battle against relegation, but it’s football and over the course of 90 minutes anything can happen – and Ollie wants that to happen for us.

Speaking to the official site ahead of the game, he explained.

‘We shouldn’t bemoan luck because the harder you work the luckier you get, things are definitely going against us at the moment but it’s down to the attitude of the lads and their work on the training ground to turn it around. We’ve stopped goals going in at the alarming rate but we’ve got to start taking our opportunities. We are making more chances, though not as many as I would like, but we’re working at it.’

Holloway goes on to say that the improvements can be seen in the statistics, but that improvement now needs to show in the only statistics that truly count – goals scored and points.

Could that begin with a fluke win over Derby?

Few would put money on it, but surely our luck has to turn at somepoint doesn’t it.
