Manager Ian Holloway has said that he’s hoping our links to newly promoted Queens Park Rangers could pay dividends when it comes to potential loans this season.

Speaking to the South London Press our manager said he was delighted for Harry Redknapp and the club as they achieved promotion back to the Premier League via the Play Offs, and he knows that with our links to the club, such as Marc Bircham, should Harry be prepared to let fringe players go after he strengthens this summer, we might be in a position to capitalise on that.

‘Hopefully, our connections might help. They will be just one of the clubs with a workforce that is too big and who will have to pare it down. There might be some of the age and wage that Marc might be able to borrow. That’s what I would like to do.’

Of course they would have to be the right players, as Holloway says he doesn’t want to build a squad of older players, and he knows Redknapp won’t consider ‘giving away’ his best players, but there may be something we can do and he says ‘I know what I want’ and he’s confident he can find people that fit our requirements to improve ourselves.

He also states that any moves he does make, whether permanent or especially on loan, won’t be about money for people coming in, it will have to be about how they see their future and whether they want to strive on for success individually, because if they do, that should mean success for Millwall as well.
