With back to back defeats not correctly telling the story of our performances for the gaffer, he’s called on the team to eradicate the errors and end the week on a high with a result we deserve.
Speaking to the official site ahead of the game against Nottingham Forest the manager explained that it would again be a tough test, but he again looked at the Reading match as a game we should’ve won and can take a lot of confidence from as we go into the match against the current table toppers.
‘Quite how we lost against Reading I’ll never know. The statistics show we had twice as many shots and twice as many on target. We got back from 2-0 down to 2-2 and I thought we would go on to win it from there. Unfortunately, we failed to defend a corner properly and once again we got punished. We have to eradicate those mistakes as they are costing us dearly at the minute.’
Holloway goes on to say that after the Ipswich loss he talked about losing in the right way if you had to lose, and he felt we did that against Reading in many ways.
‘Gutted though I was by the result, I was delighted by some of the things we did that night. I’m convinced if we continue to play like that we will win far more than we lose.’
Obviously the back to back losses run at the moment isn’t something that pleases the manager though and he says we haven’t done that since last March, so it hurts and everyone will be doing all they can to bring that run to an end against Forest.
‘We will be going out onto that pitch on Saturday determined to put things right.’
