Manager Ian Holloway was a happy man at full time in our one nil victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Beaming to the official site following the game, Holloway was most chuffed to have sent the fans home happy.

‘I’m absolutely delighted for all of our supporters here and I’m sure they will go home very happy with what they have seen from their side today. They really got behind them and the players have them exactly what they want again in terms of their work rate, passion, desire and commitment. It was a close game, probably not the best, but big Ricky has done brilliantly to come off the bench and score a goal which he made all for himself.’

Holloway went on to say that he felt the side were very solid, which was pleasing given it’s a new group not long together, so he had to credit them for that and he believes it bodes well for the future.

‘Hopefully we can make this a turning point for us. We need to take confidence into the next run of games and we’re desperate to start winning games at The Den for the fans.’

With a number of players putting in performances that took praise from the gaffer, he wanted to pick our Diego Fabbrini.

‘If ever there was a myth about what a Millwall player should be like, I think Diego has broken it. He is as light as a feather but what unbelievable skill he has. He is a great kid to work with.’

A downside from the game was the injury sustained by Lee Martin, and at the time of giving the interview the gaffer confirmed he had been taken to hospital as it was a rib injury he sustained.

He also said of the injury to Paris Cowan-Hall.

‘We’ve all devastated for Paris but he is another young man and will prove to be a brilliant player for Millwall – there’s no doubt about that.’
