Manager Ian Holloway has spoken briefly about the challenge we face later tonight as we make the trip to the Riverside Stadium to face high flying Middlesbrough.

Following the defeat to Rotherham United at the weekend, Millwall are six points from safety in the Championship and we have 12 games remaining in our season as we look for a second great escape under Ollie in two years.

We have however won two of the last four on our travels, and Boro have had two defeats in their last three games themselves.

Speaking to the official site, the under pressure gaffer said.

‘It looks very difficult but it’s not, there’s 12 games left. This time last year we had the same points as we have got now, with nine games left we dropped to rock bottom and stayed up. There’s more than enough points for us. We need to get through this period where things are going against us. We have to win games that others do not think we can – and who is to say that we can’t?’

He goes on to say that as ever what is key to results is the team fighting for each other, working hard and sticking to the game plan and showing the passion that he wants from them and yes we might need a few ‘miraculous’ results but we know on song we are capable of getting them.

‘I managed to re-energise the squad last year and we can do it again.’
