Millwall head into the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend and the first return of former gaffer Kenny Jackett looking for their first win since the end of August and manager Ian Holloway has told the official site that he’s wanting to see the boys perform to the levels we know we are capable of and the levels we showed in the game against Derby County in our last game.
‘This is a great one. Our fans have something really exciting to look forward to. I’m looking forward to seeing Kenny, but we will be at each other’s throats. Hopefully my Lions will be stronger than the Wolves!’
For team news Lee Martin has overcome his knee ligament injury and has returned to training so he comes into contention for selection for this game. Nicky Bailey remains out with a calf problem and Carlos Edwards is continuing his rehabilitation following his surgery for ruptured cruciate knee ligaments.
Our former gaffer has also spoken before the game and in praising the club and the supporters fully he said.
‘Millwall is a unique football club with a great siege mentality. I received great backing when I was manager there, not only from the chairman and the directors, but from all the people behind the scenes, the groundsman, the kitman, everyone. That’s what I told Ian he could expect and that was one of the reasons I enjoyed such a long and happy association with the club.’
