Manager Neil Harris has said that Millwall’s performance in the game against Cardiff deserved more than a point on Saturday.

Speaking to the official site following the scoreless draw, Harris explained that he believed the performance warranted all three points but he’ll certainly take the positives from the game and the point he knows could be all important in a few games time when the season closes and we see just where we sit in the Championship table.
The extra two points would certainly have been useful as Rotherham are four points ahead of us, but like them we have a game in hand on Brighton who are six points clear at the moment.
‘Cardiff were probably the better side in the first-half but in the second it was chance after chance for us. On another day we certainly win that game. Unfortunately it just didn’t quite happen in and around the six-yard box for us. But overall we have shown how far we have come with that display. Our performance deserved more.’
Harris goes on to say it’s simply another ‘step forward’ for the team because the players know they played well and they can take confidence from that, especially knowing with a bit more luck in front of goal it would’ve been another win.
‘We’re pleased with the clean sheet against a good Cardiff team. They have a number of quality players so they defence had to play well, which they did. It gives us a good base going into Tuesday’s game against Blackburn. We will give it a right go up there.’
In wider quotes from his post game interviews, Harris also talked more about the chances we had and Rotherham and in quotes carried by London24 he explained.
‘Gary (Taylor-Fletcher) is disappointed with that chance and not scoring, as are a few of the other boys. We had a few good chance to score today. But the pleasing thing is we are getting those chances. Ricardo and Gary did well coming on, they were a positive change and had we got one we might have had two or three.’
Talking about the ongoing Rotherham situation, he added that he knew as much as the rest of the press did in reality.
‘I know as much as you guys about the Rotherham situation. We just know we are back in the mix. It does not help us not knowing but we have to look after ourselves and keep going. The teams above us are looking over their shoulders, it may not have been the best of games but we are showing we have got what it takes to win football games and it means the sides above us know they need to pick up wins.’
