Manager Neil Harris has said he’s disappointed with the weekend’s loss to Watford but he knows he can’t be too downbeat.

Speaking to the official site following the two nil defeat, Harris explained that he couldn’t fault the effort of the players in the game and he felt that was shown by the fact their efforts were applauded by the fans following the game.

‘I’m frustrated and disappointed but the boys have given me everything I’ve asked for yet again. We had numerous opportunities but just couldn’t get the ball in that net. The players are disappointed but at the same time they are feeling positive in the dressing room because they can see the progress we are making.’

Harris goes on to say that for him the major positive is that the fans clapped the team off because it means the team are giving their all, and working as hard as they can and it means he’s not seeing the game differently.

Improvement is there we are just missing that last bit.

‘I think they are identifying with the team and the performances, so that is a positive for us. We are getting crosses into the box and creating chances. All that was lacking in the end was the finish. On another day we might have had two penalties too, but I’m not going to complain about that because we can’t change what has happened.’

Knowing we can’t change the last result now, it’s all eyes to Wigan on Tuesday evening for Harris and he knows how ‘massive’ a game that is for us now.

‘We now have a massive game against Wigan on Tuesday night. This is a results business and with the situation we’re in we need to be getting wins on the board now.’

With Lee Martin returning to training last week and coming on as a second half substitute, Paris Cowan-Hall may come into thoughts for Tuesday’s game or the one after having returned to training himself last week ahead of the game against Watford.

It’s also all eyes on the FA charge for Rotherham fielding an ineligible player as they may get a points deduction for the transgression.
