Manager Neil Harris has said he’s hoping the fans can create a special atmosphere for when we face Sheffield United this weekend.
Hosting Nigel Adkins’ side at The Den this weekend, they too are hopeful of a Play Off push for promotion with their own form this year ruling them out of an automatic run as they originally hoped, and Harris knows it’s going to be another tough and important game for the club in our own hopes of returning to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Speaking to the official site in his pre game press conference, Chopper explained that he was hopeful of a similar performance to the one the side put in at Bramall Lane earlier in the season.
‘Playing Sheffield United at any stage of the season, home or away, is always going to be a big test. This game is one I’m really looking forward to seeing my players perform in and I’m sure there will be a terrific atmosphere inside the stadium too.’
Looking back to the last game in October, Harris went on to say that it wasn’t only the three points that were important, it was also a great experience for the younger members of the side given the support United carry themselves and the atmosphere created on the day.
‘Our win at Bramall Lane back in October was a big moment in our season at that point in time, particularly for some of our young players, many of whom hadn’t experienced that type of atmosphere in a big ground before. They thoroughly enjoyed it and it set the tone for what lay ahead. While we know that this game will be very different, our task is to play with similar intensity, organisation and belief as we did on that afternoon, and we want our performance to help generate a special atmosphere inside The Den. Over the last couple of months we have built up some real momentum and we want that to continue.’
