Manager Neil Harris has spoken of his pride in the Millwall players for taking a comprehensive victory over Norwich City this weekend.

Hosting Daniel Farke’s side at The Den yesterday, Millwall took a four nil victory with goals coming from Lee Gregory, George Saville, Jed Wallace and Shaun Hutchinson.

Speaking to the official site as he met with the media for his post game press conference, Harris was delighted to see the side ‘take another step in the right direction’ as we registered our first win of the season and of course it’s the perfect boost as we go into the international lull now.

‘After the goalless draw at Bristol City last week, I was delighted with the game management we showed on the back of throwing away three points against Ipswich. I said to my players that that has to be the level this year – that has to be us. We have to manage the games. We have to be in the game all the time.’

Harris went on to say.

‘I told them – I promised them, I gave them my word – that if we do, the results will come. Today clearly doesn’t make a season, but its another step in the right direction.’

Having asked the players to be ruthless in their approach to matches, Harris was also delighted to see them take that on board in the clinical showing we put in.

‘We couldn’t keep conceding one chance a game and getting beat 1-0. I knew we had the ability to score goals out of anything, so today, I asked the players to give me everything. An aggressive mentality with and without the ball, a clean sheet and a ruthlessness about ourselves. My players have delivered – I’m really proud of them.’
