Manager Neil Harris has said that he expects Millwall to be ready for the early kick off and test that will be Oxford United on Saturday.

Millwall head to the Kassam Stadium for a 1pm kick off and we know what to expect from the side following last season’s double header against them in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, and Harris explained that having done his homework on them for this clash, he’s continued to be impressed with Michael Appleton’s promoted side.

Speaking to the official site in his pre game press conference, the gaffer explained.

‘Oxford have had a slight change in personnel during the summer. But they are still an attack-minded team so we will have to defend well and be a threat going forward. They gave us two very good games last year, and they have kicked on and are a solid good footballing side. They have made a solid start this season. They have some dangerous players so we’re expecting a difficult game, but we’ll be confident going into it after three wins in our last four outings.’

Defender Shaun Hutchinson was also speaking ahead of the game having got 90 minutes under his belt as he returns from injury for the Under 23 side in their victory at the beginning of the week over Queens Park Rangers.

‘It’s a great feeling. That’s my first 90 minutes on the pitch in a long time.’

25 year old Hutchinson was a late sub in the game against Fleetwood Town as well, and he’ll be hoping to be involved this weekend again following his lengthy mid August lay off with a hamstring injury.

‘It’s been a frustrating time, not playing for so long. You just have to keep doing what you’re doing and hope that it is worth it because you’ll be back in the mix for selection. I have enjoyed playing with the U23s and lending my experience to help them develop as players, but in the senior set-up is where I want to be.’
