Caretaker duo Neil Harris and Scott Fitzgerald continue to be in charge for the visit of table toppers Leicester, and Harris has called on the fans to get right behind the lads to give us the best chance possible of causing an upset.

Speaking to the official site having overseen a scoreless draw with Doncaster Rovers, Harris called on the players to enjoy the experience against Leicester especially as it was coming on home soil, because he’s sure the fans will be right behind them as we look to cause a shock in the first footballing action of 2014.

‘It will be a completely different game from the one at Doncaster and I’m sure there will be a great atmosphere inside The Den. I certainly think Leicester are the best team in the league at the moment, and we’re in a transitional period between managers. Fitz and I aren’t going to need to motivate the players because they know it’s all about. A big crowd at The Den, the league leaders coming to town – what more, as a player, do you want?’

Ahead of the game the caretaker duo do have additional options as Danny Shittu returns to contention following his suspension and it’ll be down to them as to whether they recall him or keep faith with clean sheet duo Beevers and Lowry.

As for Leicester’s current form, we do have some good luck in that department as Jamie Vardy is out suspended and could be replaced with either Martyn Waghorn or Gary Taylor-Fletcher, but also Chris Wood – another player we know very well and what he’s capable of – is out injured, as well as international Sean St Ledger, so they won’t be at full strength, but of course that doesn’t mean it’s going to necessarily make it an easier game.
