With Tony Craig testimonial match tomorrow against former club Brentford, Millwall manager Neil Harris has lavished praise on his former playing colleague.
Craig will be leading the team out in his position of skipper tomorrow having more than played his role at Millwall, but also having been a key part of the Brentford side that won promotion themselves back in the 2013/14 season.
Speaking to the official site ahead of the game, Harris explained.
‘Walking out onto the pitch between two sets of players from clubs which Tony knows so well will be an extremely special and humbling experience for him and his family. I played with him for about eight seasons out of the 10 and a half which he’s done at Millwall and I have not appeared alongside many better pro`s or more dedicated players than him. Tony’s preparation for a game is always meticulous and his desire to win is probably what makes him a special character and indeed a player, which is what you have to be in order to play for Millwall over the long-term.’
Harris went on to add.
‘It is not something which I was born with, but mine grew as I played more games for this club whereas Tony, as a fan and as an Academy player here, had it right from a young age. He is born and bred Millwall so Saturday really will be a fitting occasion for him.’

Chairman John Berylson is also making a 24 hour round trip from Boston to be at the game, and he said.
‘Since my time at the club began I have been fortunate to get to know many players of different ages and backgrounds, but very few who, like Tony, possess absolutely all the attributes that it takes to be an outstanding player for Millwall. Fans here enjoy nothing more than seeing one of their players completely committed with a never-say-die attitude; one who goes into every tackle with force but fairness and one who plays as any supporter would if they were given the opportunity to pull on the shirt themselves. That is Tony. Saturday is going to be a very special occasion for him and I would like to thank him for everything he has given to this wonderful club over the years.’
