Striker Lee Gregory has thanked the fans for making him feel so welcome at the club after joining us over the summer and making the step up from FC Halifax.

Speaking to the official site the 26 year old admitted he had to wait longer for his first goal than he would’ve liked, five appearances, but he knew there would be a learning curve and he said he was extremely grateful for the support he’s received.

‘I’m feeling so settled in now it’s great. I’ve got my goals, feel fitter, feel stronger and have gone past the stage of trying to make sure I was in the squad to now trying to make sure I start in the team.’

Gregory goes on to say that as he expected, the speed of play at this level is a lot different from what he was used to, and training is obviously far more intense and focused and everybody works so much harder, so it took a few games and weeks to adjust, but now he feels he’s at the right speed to grow and develop further.

He also goes on to say that having moved from the North he now also feels settled in the area so everything is nicely clicking into place for him now.

‘The fans have been great to me so far and given me a really warm welcome, they are very passionate, but the players are very passionate too and want to do well.’
