Striker Lee Gregory has been full of praise today for former striker and now gaffer Neil Harris for giving him his confidence back.
Speaking to the official site following his goal in the two all draw with Brentford last Saturday, Gregory said that the chats he’d had with the new gaffer had injected new confidence into him and some renewed belief and he’s hoping now that he can show that more regularly on the pitch and over the coming games see if he can turn is six goals so far into a first season return of double figures.
‘The past few games since Chopper took over has given me a huge amount of confidence. He keeps telling me how much he believes in me and that has helped a lot. I’m looking forward to every game at the minute and I’m enjoying my football. Chopper is doing very well, he is treating everyone the same and the lads know where they stand. There is a good morale in the team at the minute.’
Gregory goes on to say that from day one he changed the style of play and he’s stuck with that allowing the team to learn it, and improve on it and he feels that showed in the performance at the weekend, albeit losing the two goal lead did leave everyone disappointed at full time.
‘He has changed the style of play straight away and has stuck by that after three games, with another seven to go. It keeps me busy all the time and I know that the ball is going to come to me much more. I want to finish the season on a massive high, my confidence is back to where it was when I first came here and I’m really enjoying my football.’
