Manager Neil Harris has said he was delighted with the result against Doncaster Rovers last night, but he wants far more improvement on the actual performance we put in.
Audio – Harris On Doncaster Win
Speaking to the official site in his post game press conference having seen Steve Morison bag an early brace on the day to give us another three points this season, it was mixed thoughts for the gaffer as the result was obviously a pleasure but he expected far more from the performance.
‘Overall I’m delighted with the win and the three points. I’m certainly very pleased with the clean sheet. We were not at our best tonight, that’s for sure. I wasn’t a happy man at half-time but I told the players and in the second-half we did improve. There were some positive passages of play for us and what is pleasing is the spirit the group showed once again. What tonight has proved is that while we are making small steps forward we can get better. And we will.’
As for Morison more specifically, who notched up his fifth goal of the campaign last night, his former team mate went on to say.
‘They were two really good goals from Steve. Yet again I thought his performance was outstanding. He led the line well and is always an outlet for us going forward. Steve will probably admit that there have been games where he has played even better and not scored, but his performance was still very good and I’m delighted that he has been rewarded with the winning goals.’
Millwall’s FA Cup first round tie against AFC Fylde has also now been fixed and it takes place on Saturday November 7 and kicks off at 3pm.
