Your favourite decade following wall

90’s. Was aged 15 to 25 and my most ‘active’ years by a mile. Got in with our mob at a young age. Got nicknamed the wippersnapper by big Frank D (RIP) and it stuck. Even get called it to this day at times, at the ripe old age of 50.

Was such an exciting and carefree decade for me. Millwall, clubbing, the OKR, smashing different birds all the time, just loved it. Had a year out in Tenerife in 96 as well, when I was 21. Mental year that was. The decade didn’t end well for me though. Started the 2000’s with a stint in Strangeways and a 3 year banning order after the Man City turn out.

Don’t remember much about the football though. Was all a bit of a blur 😆

1997- 2005 for me, Going up to games with two of my younger brothers and various mates that wanted to tag along for a piss up and a few smokes, seeing the team slowly come good again after 96.

Popping round our Mum’s (sadly died in 2017) on the way home to drop my youngest brother home on a Saturday. She always welcomed us with a beaming smile with unconditional love and asked how the ‘wall got on. I fondly miss those times.

Took my first proper hiding at that one mate. Highbury corner after the game when a certain chap walked us Into an ambush where we was well outnumbered but I stood and took my medicine. Great day from the meet at the Charlie Chaplain onwards.
I very nearly got led astray too. Another well known chap talked me out of it. About the only time I decided to listen to some good advice.

Quite possibly the same for me mate.
Yeah, what a great time that was but memories fade and when at my I age I feel they are fading faster than what I had for dinner yesterday, I just keep in my head:

Stepney, Gilchrist, Cripps, Jones, Snowden, Wilson, Rowan, Julians, Brown, Dunphy, Neil.

What a Fu.cking team they were.

Showing my age ? but proud to have chidren and grandchildren next to me in West Upper.

What a great family is Millwall eh ?

Mickey Brown. 1st Millwall goalscorer I saw.
V Swindon at home. Won 1-0.

If you don't mind me asking what block in the west upper? Were in block 2 and have been for around 15 years now. Was in West lower prior to that. The Kitchener is the only stand that I've sat in.

Can’t pick a specific decade but favourite teams to watch was Billy Gray’s (mid-60’s) and Benny Fenton’s when Weller and Possee were playing 👌
Same with me, Benny Fenton assembled a great team on a Mickey Purser budget (meaning fuck all) and was my favourite period in following the ‘Wall.
The talent that he discovered and nurtured was really remarkable. He was one hell of a Manager.

Remember one game and we were leading 1-0 and under the cosh. Ball was played towards the dugout and Benny kicked it away from opposing player and over the goal line to waste time. Top man with top team on little money.
