Why I think Silver's completely wrong

I am a season ticket holder but if Rowett does not buy any attacking players in January I am afraid that after supporting Millwall for the past 69 years I have had enough and I wont be buying anymore season tickets.

As long as it’s only the training ground
:hmmm:
I don't know how much we are paying for our current plot, but I do know the majority of the players live In close vicinity. Shortlands, Beckenham ect.

This new place Is basically across the road from my aunt's house and although the drive Is direct enough, It's not a quick trip and the traffic coming home for the players will be a nightmare as they get to Chislehurst. Even staying on the A20 to New Eltham, If there Is a hint of congestion you can be sitting there for what seems like eternity.

Short of Bexley Village, a good 20 minutes away, there Is fuck all of merit for the players In terms of living and socialising round that way so It Is not an Ideal location for attracting players. I can't Imagine that we will stretch to state of the art, modern facilities, I doubt we'll even stretch to facilities that posterity will be kind to, so I don't know excatly what the point or end game Is.

If I was cynical, which Is unheard of In a Wall fan, I would say that our glorious multi-millionaire chairman from a completely different part of the world, brought up In a completely different way of life to the fan base, who has Invested millions of his own cash with no seeming return from footballing endeavours, and our new forigen and anonymous billionaire sugar Daddy sponsor, who made his money In construction and development, see the prime real estate surrounding our ground and the rather fractious relationship we have with Lewisham council as a golden opportunity to make a shit load of money at the expense of our Identity as a south London football club.

Don’t be silly, Stompie!

The players only train till midday! No way will any of them get stuck in rush hour traffic! :grinning:

That idiot De Savory sold the ground for a million quid and then rented it back for £100,000 a year

Not gonna knock JB as without him, we would have been history a long time ago.

But Rowett isnt leading us down a good path.
He's fallen out with Danny & Mahoney, both young & talented players.
His defensive mindset is shocking & when we face a team who comes out of the starting blocks hard & fast & are 3-0 up by half time, his tactics wont be worth a wank.
Im not looking forward to the next half of the season when we play teams for the second time. They will have us sussed if he doesnt sort it out.
Teams have us sussed anyway. We play a back 3 and no team presses us. They sit off and block the channels to our midfield and wing backs. That’s why the balls go forward- back and the side to side. We sit in our formation and so do the opposition. Ends up as a bit of a stale mate. It’s no coincidence we play our best football when we go behind as we take more risks and the opposition are pulled out of shape. GR called it chaos football and it worked against Stoke but we nearly came unstuck against Derby.

Will say this season I have been very slack with the amount of games I've been to. I've still been to around 10 this year, but have missed so many compared to what I normally do.

Something just doesn't feel right? especially after so long away from the ground, I was buzzing to get back. Now I couldn't care less? I just don't get excited with this group of players/staff...

Strange times. :(

As i said before it feels like all life and ambition is gradually being sucked out of the players and supporters. Things are getting very un-Millwall like. We used to get angry, now people are giving up bothering. Well done GR.

If Jed leaves in January I’ll be interested to see the impact on the team 🤔

Personally, I don’t think it will be as bad as some think and, with him gone, I wouldn’t be surprised if our moves flowed better and we create more chances than now!
When Jed is not on the pitch, the team performance is affected many times to the good. But would rather him stay with us.

Yes, we did say that about Harris, but even I have to admit that when Rowett and Davidson took over, the tactics, the style of play - virtually everything that had been the opposite of Harris’ game, was a breath of fresh air and a joy to watch!
I thought the same. I was very Impressed at first. To be fair anything would have been a big step up after Harris' hit and hope long balls.

It can't be a coincidence that the football changed so drastically when Davidson left. You would have thought that Rowett would have enough about him to have continued along the same lines once he did but It really does seem that Davidson was the brains of the outfit. Even the substitutions suffered, going from positive and reactionary to negative and Identikit.

Which begs the question, If all the positives came from the number 2. What Is the point of Rowett?

Even though I don't trust Berrylson and believe he Is after taking large sums off us at our expense, when you think back to all the shit we had In the years previous we've been fortunate with the way he has run us.

Very interesting, your thoughts on JB, Stompie!

Care to elaborate further about why you don’t trust him, and why you believe he‘s taking large sums of money from the club?

He’s about £50 million down & wants his money back but he doesn’t own the ground or the car park so unless he’s been secretly buying up property all around Bermondsey, he’s trying to get his millions back out of thin air. He’s either the cleverest man in the world or another idiot. Still, he’s our idiot & we should probably be grateful for now

The fella's in business. Id want a huge return if I was him & I'm sure it wont be at our expense when he does.
The amount of money he's put into us to keep us afloat is admirable.

Because he Is a posh Yank that has no ties to our club or area yet has Invested large sums of money, (but no where near enough to get us to a position where he will get a return from It through football) without any seeming reason.

Our club doesn't maximise It's revenue potential or Invest In ways to make money, he just (fortunately for us) spends enough money to keep us stable.

I don't belive he Is taking money out of the club, he has been, for the most part, a modle chairman so far. A philanthropist he may be but we ain't a charity or a good cause and he will want a marked return on his Investment sooner or later. When he does, just like all the others previously, he will be viewed with a lot less goodwill (I think contempt) than he has now.

Who's other expense will It be? West Ham's? Manchester United's? Mark's And Spencer's?
He owns Millwall. His return will come from Millwall and our only real assest Is In redevelopment.

I've long suspected he had a hand In the Renewal debacle.

No one gives up £50 million. That should set alarm bells ringing for everyone.
