We lose another kid to the prem

Chelsea have signed a 15 year from us, apparently his parents were at the signing ceremony, Anglo African so parents get a big bounce out if it and the kid is thrilled to sign for London's biggest club, I dont care if I get slated for this but I hope he never makes it as a adult profesional and ends up working in macdonalds greedy family and no loyalty

If he makes it, then fair play. It’s a lot harder to make it through the ranks there than with us… and very, very few make it into our 1st team squad.

My brother in law’s nephew was playing non-league in Kent. Was snapped up by Palace, paid rent for his gaff and gave him a brand new Mercedes. Fucked him off after a year, last I heard he was sat on the bench at Morecambe. All that glitters…

this sort of thing happens way to often for my liking how are you can you build a team for the future when your best kids are nicked by bigger teams what happened to the under 24 rule thing ?

What will be will be.

The big clubs have the clout and bamboozle the kids and more importantly the parents and they fall for it , what % of these kids make it ? Wonder how the lad Rangers stole from us is getting on or is he still playing no nothing b team games

He’s a sicknote

We have players that started at other clubs and it's good for the club long term if it means attracting more talent. If Millwall can produce Talent like Esse then we will benefit short and long term. Some will slip through the net to bigger clubs. It's a bit shit but football is about big money and a bit shit.

What 16 to 18 year olds have we lost like this who have made it to those that have not?

My view is if you are not around our 1st team by 18 its less likely you will be at Chelsea.

I think we should erect a sign in the academy area saying “David Amoo” as a reminder to the youngsters who think the grass will be greener elsewhere 😉

Be fair, the lad used Liverpool as a stepping stone to MK Dons, Tranmere, Bury, Carlisle, Stevenage, Cambridge United, Ebsfleet and Welling. Not necessarily in that order.😀

It’s how the youth systems work. They are predominantly there to sell the youth onto bigger clubs, enabling the academies to self fund. It’s not new, it’s a fact of football life. I’ve had one of my lads play at academy football with Lincoln and they are absolutely clear from the outset. They try and coach players to sell, or to play into the youth team and then sell. It funds thier academy and they don’t need to hide it.
