Watford V The mighty lions-- Match thread--Sat 12.30 Kick off

A great performance against an in-form team, and in their own back yard as well. Very impressive team spirit, they all got stuck in and were very committed.
One of our best performances of the season.

I thought Watford looked piss poor for most of the game, but that is doing 'Wall a disfavour. Although they came alive late on, we still made them look shit when they resorted to theatrics and clownery.

That ref got worse as the game went on. Another tit of an official we've had to put up with. It's like playing against twelve men with some of the plums that turn up looking to impress with a whistle, wagging finger, cards and a pair of boots.

:grinning:
I though he was fair with the bookings. apart from the neck grabber who should have got a red. It never fails to amaze me how these teams who believe they are prem sides in waiting lose the plot when they are outplayed. However once they start the bolshy stuff I know we have won.

Fair play to the lino, Emily Carney. She was seen laughing when our fans were taking the piss out of the ballboy's fuck-up and she had a far better game than the referee, who was terrible.
What those that didn’t see the match missed out on👍

I’m surprised, given Watford could have played for a month of Sundays and not scored, our fans didn’t yell for more added time just to ogle her 😉

I thought he was probably the worse ref I've seen all season, regardless of what he did with the bookings. He started okay, then steadily went down the drain. There are some more detailed comments about the ref over on the 'just back thread'.

Just personal opinions, of course...

Any decent ref for a laugh would have ran up to the ball boy and show him a yellow card...

I’ve said on numerous occasions ‘all I want from a referee is parity’, and yesterday we didn’t get it. How he arrived at some of the decisions left me baffled and. by then end off the match, I think he’d lost the plot altogether. I wouldn’t use the word ‘biased’ but let’s say the 50/50 calls certainly didn’t go our way - the one where Taylor was over by the dugout, chopped back inside and the ref gave a kick to Watford was laughable. It looked like he couldn’t wait for the game to finish!

Have a look at the header that went just wide from their corner, the player that headed the ball literally wrapped his arms round Doughty,s neck and threw him to the floor before heading the ball, no foul given, if that had gone in it would have been controversial.

They have too many stereotypical foreigners in their side, like to look pretty with the tippy tappy stuff then roll around pretending to be injured when tackled.

TV cameras didn't pick it up , you can see it clearly in this youtube video, do yourself a favour and go straight to 1 min 53 as it's one of those schoolkid vlogs and not very good.
