Some stat wankery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
We've met 62 times --- Won-24- Drawn-15- lost-23
Goals for-- 72 Against--81
Our first meeting was way back in 1903. FA cup semi final which was played in front 40,500 fans at Villa park. We lost 3-0.
Our first five meetings were cup games. After those we went from 1937 to 1966 before meeting again. It was also our first meeting in a league game.
We lost that game 5-1
We played each other only once throughout the 70's and that was by virtue of a cup game which we lost.
Biggest win --4-1---August 1994 at the Den-- Alex Rae and a Kerr hat trick for us.
Our first home game and win in the first division was against this lot. Along with Charlton, Qpr and Luton we did the double over them that season. Both games finished 1-0. Sheringham scored each time.
Their firm still hold the record for Surrey docks to Deptford in under 30 seconds. Not impressed? They was going backwards
Weather- Wet in the morning then dary and sunny for the match
No planned works or closure at South Bermo
