My grandad was Millwall, but would go to watch football all over London if Millwall was away (or playing shit lol). He ended up going to Chelsea a lot in his later years because he loved the style of football they played back then.
My Dad was a passionate Lions supporter but I remember him taking me to the Valley mid-50s to watch Charlton v Everton in the FA Cup.

I was blown away by the size of the ground, especially the terrace opposite the main stand. The ground was half empty but there was still 44,000 there🤦‍♂️

The pitch was a quagmire and I remember Stuart Leary (a Charlton legend) being put through and the ball sticking in the mud and the chance was gone 😂

I think Charlton lost 2-0 🤔

I could never bring myself to do something similar with my son, albeit I did take him to Dulwich Hamlet to watch AFC Wimbledon lose to Fisher in a playoff shortly after the former was reformed and when the latter had several ex-wall players 👍

Really good save by Jensen. Clever backheel from their players. Jensen gets down well to stop and then gathers at the feet of their player.
That save he made with his legs at the end just before we scored was a right lucky touch, I keep checking it and positive the ball went through his legs and caught his back heel to spin across the face of the goal. You need that bit of luck sometimes.Itd have been criminal if they had scored at that stage.

We got lucky, again! That's football. Won't always happen but we are due some luck.

My old man took me to loads of non-Millwall games when I was a kid if we were away far from home or not playing. Back then, football was nothing like it is today. It was cheap to go, you could pay on the day and very few grounds sold out. I went to Tottenham, Charlton, Palace, Gillingham, Arsenal and Orient before I was 9 years old. Even back then though, and I can still remember feeling it despite enjoying watching other games, nothing compared to Millwall. It just felt right. It felt like home. It was like this is where I was supposed to be. I don't know if that's because it's a family thing or what. You just feel it. It's very strange and hard to describe properly.

It's called Love.
Simples!

I thought their bloke was offside before he took that shot. And not by a little way either.
I agree, given how flag happy that linesman was in the first half I was gobsmacked it didn't get waived on something that looked yards offside. Think we scored just after, so karma got even on that one. 🤷‍♂️

People saying the ref did one thing right by playing on when emakhu got taken out on the wing, I’m not sure he did I don’t think he saw it as a foul.

Cynical foul, Emakhu had already flicked the ball past the player and he took him out.
The Ref should have yellow carded him after the goal.
