I really wasn't sure about Azeez after his debut against Orient and the substitute appearances he made after, but he has proved me wrong. He can beat players, assist and score. He is strong, tall and quick and can only get better. The really impressive thing for me is his work-rate and attitude.
Couldn’t agree more. After just a few games you could see he has something about him. Drives forward with the ball, always positive with his runs, a decent cross but also has that knack of being in the right place at the right time. He has been unlucky not to be on the scoresheet more often.

I was just thinking the same. The last squad we had with this much young talent and potential along with some re, Cahiil for aa whileally solid senior professionals and some quality signings was 2001.
Yeah the McGhee era we played some good stuff and had some decent players. Reid, Ifill, Cahill, Harris. Claridge and Wise although i hated the geezer.

Can anyone explain the refs performance cos I can't on atleast 5 occasions he missed incidents in the penalty area because he was looking the wrong way not watching play one being a blatant penalty when tanga had his shirt pulled when attacking the ball
In the first half their player took Leonard out next to the Dockers stand and he didn't even book him. Leonard would have been away but mackem done a professional foul.
Then there was the time wasting where all they did was fall over like skittles.
At the end of the game the Sunderland players dropped to their knees as they probably felt it was like a defeat. Serves them right for the time wasting and the ref who was shocking. COYL!!!

You can also add to the shit display on refereeing today.. the amount of chinwags he was having with their players, letting them feign injury, allowing their player to waste time and walk off across the whole width of the pitch (savs was rightly in his ear about that) and watched an absolute shove in the penalty area on one of ours in the 2nd half (Hutch?) Which stuck whoever it was on his back.. I was watching the incident and I was watching the referee watch the incident... and he done nothing at all and looked away like he hadn't seen it.. I've seen some shit refs in my time, but this guy acted like he disliked us and he didn't care who saw it. Prick of the highest order.

I am afraid it happens far to often. That’s why I am surprised if and when we get a fair and honest officials.

I do wonder if he could repeat what he's done/ doing with us elsewhere. I have a hunch that he might struggle unless he adapts. He breathes Millwall, knows exactly what the fans expect/ demand/ deserve. He knows the exact type of character and credentials a player needs to make it at Millwall.

The team he's built and added to since Rowett reminds me of successful sides of the past. This time around he's brought in a bit more than bite and bollock players. First and foremost he is looking for the right character and attitude from a potential signing. To get that aspect right and a build a team of hungry, competent and technically sound players that compliment each other isn't easy or down to luck.

By all accounts the squad is very tight/ close and the spirit and buzz around the training ground and dressing room is infectious and second to none. As much as i'm usually very calm and measured when it comes to us i can't help but feel quite excited and very positive about how we're going about things and that is purely down to Harris and his understanding of and relationship with our club.

He knows what it takes to succeed at Millwall and i think he's going about identifying those players at a fair speed. Perhaps not this season but if we keep this team together and let them mature a bit i really do think they could achieve some greatness together.

💯 P. The Serb has Millwall in him too. Off the ball Ballard shoulder charged him and Mika gave it back and then some. He’ll be fucking Wall through and through and won’t stand any truck.

Difference between now and then is this league now has many clubs spending money we can only dream of.

Agree, but it's how you spend it. I wouldn't swap some of our potential for almost anyone's in this league. Esse, Azeez, Emakhu and Ivanovic have massive ceilings when it comes to improvement and they are already more than decent. Kelly is often forgotten, but I think there is a real player there who with time can develop. Kelly has only really played in youth games and will be learning all the time, even in training. But with all of them, patience is the key.

The ref was very bad today. I honestly think that some of them come to our ground with our fans and puff themselves up to not be intimidated and give us nothing.

Sometimes players and managers fit a club and like you say, he gets us and more importantly, he has the respect of the players and the vast majority of the fans. Harris did a really good job at Cardiff though, nobody after his spell in charge has got them into the play-offs and they've had multiple managers since. He also dragged Cambridge from relegation to comfortably mid-table before he came back to us. Gillingham was mixed, but by all accounts the club was in a mess off the pitch and he was sacked when they were 4th or 5th and again, two managers later, they are no better off. Harris isn't perfect, but he is a fucking good Millwall manager. Dare I say it as a fan of Rowett's results, if not the style, that we have to be careful of what we wish for. The grass isn't always greener and it can very quickly and easily turn to shit. I'd offer Harris a new contract in one hot minute.

It was Tanganga that was blatantly pulled down in the area and deffo a penalty, if it had been at the other end he would have given it.

Harris is a far better Manager than given credit for, this is the first set of players that has quality in all positions which i doubt he has had before and he is getting a tune out of all of them, his substitutions saved the game yesterday.

I’m like you. Wasn’t at all impressed at first, but rate him highly now. His attitude is exactly what we want from a Millwall player. Good lad!
