I seem to remember we got taken twice as kids, growing up in New Cross.Even if you weren't a racing fan, Derby Day used to be one of the big events in the sporting calendar when I was a kid/teenager.
I wasn't even aware that it was on yesterday; no mention of it on the main BBC Sport page. Did it get much coverage elsewhere in the media?
Since moving to a Saturday, I know it's been a while , but has lost it's magic for me.Even if you weren't a racing fan, Derby Day used to be one of the big events in the sporting calendar when I was a kid/teenager.
