That most wonderful day 20 year ago

I was leading a tour on the west coast of the USA and in Seattle on the day of the game. Seattle was eight hours behind UK time. I woke up at 7 and found a computer in the house I was staying at. It took a while to get into it but I finally found out the score. I woke my daughter up and told her the score and that we were in the final. She said that was great but would we be going! I said that of course we would be there . What a day that was in Cardiff!

So many great memories, got up there the the night before the semi final with my younger brothers. Hotel full of wall, it was carnage.

Funniest thing I’ve ever seen was when we were walking to the stadium through Cardiff for the final. There was this preacher on his soap box in the middle of the pedestrianised road. He was surrounded by a big crowd of wall, all pointing at him doing the monk chant 🤣

Never missed a cup final , even when in the big house
After our big day I’ve never watched another as I don’t want to ruin that magic memory

A special day, I think it was better than the final in some way, the excitement in the build up the goal ,going mental, the fears and hope as the clock slowly ticks by , the joy at the final whistle, the party on way home , Millwall memories I never thought I’d have, the FA cup final was a dream come true, I enjoyed Cardiff but it’s a shame it wasn’t at Wembley.
We have had a good 20 odd years looking back, even div one was good we had some big clubs down with us Leicester Leeds etc , the semi at Wembley (again ruined by them cnts Wigan) , play offs , promotion, , Charlton going to the dogs haha .

Best ever awayday. So proud to be Millwall!
Even better than Southampton away last season. Harris's first game back, and that's saying something. Wonderful memories I'll never lose.
I was at both and I also concur.

The noise inside the ground. The noise. When we scored, the eruption and limbs, I have never ever ever seen or heard anything like it in my entire life and I never will.
Then the final whistle, and again, the noise. It's the noise that still makes my hairs stand up on the back of my neck and raises my arm hairs.. still did writing this down. The passion. "WE'RE ALL GOING ON A EUROPEAN TOUR..."

The day was the best away day I have ever experienced or likely to experience.

I was on the phone when we scored.. my mate was sat at work and he said his work colleagues couldn't believe a noise could come from a mobile phone..

Mustard.

I was shitfaced the whole weekend in Manchester. Stupidly didn't book a hotel in advance, thought we'd just find one when we arrived... Hadn't put it together that Ricky Hatton was fighting that weekend and we spent ages trying to find a hotel!
I had a terrific weekend, and wouldn't change it, however I would like to go back and re-live it sober - if for no other reason than the memories would remain fresher!

The cup run

3rd round- Walsall home 2-1- Braniff and Cahill

4th round- Telford away 2-0- Ifill and Wise

5th round -Burnley home 1-0- Dichio

6th round- Tranmere home 0-0-

6th round -Replay away Tranmere- 2-1- Cahill and Harris

Our following game (league)--Beat the vermin 4-1 on mothers day :smoke::smoke:

Semi final- Sunderland 1-0- Cahill
Was it Tranmere home when Muscat missed the pen? I remember being fucking gutted.

1997-2005. What a time to be Millwall in your early 20’s. Spoilt really, before it all came crashing down, again!

In your early 20’s 🤦‍♂️

Agree, those that started supporting the Lions during that time were spoilt and, perhaps, have come to expect too much 🤔

I had a wish list with my old man when starting to watch wall
1. Play in the top division
2. Play in Europe
3. Play at Wembley
4. Win a major trophy
My old nan couldn't believe we have 3 out of 4 in his life time

Do the London 5-a-Sides count. We've won that three times.
Or is that pushing it a bit?
