We have a massive amount of momentum, self belief and confidence after Saturday’s draw against the Black Cats but do we have enough energy and mental strength to overcome a lesser opponent who are scrapping for their lives at the wrong end of the table. This will be a tough test and they will be up for it big time. They also have the advantage of playing at home in front of a raucous group of fans and a second advantage of not playing on Saturday as their game against Blackburn was called off be cause of bad weather. NH will have been looking at the whole squad to see who can go again on Wednesday and whether he will need to make changes to reflect a different sort of game.
One certainty is that there is no need to change the keeper. He could do little about the goal he conceded but still made some other good saves. Leonard did not play his absolute best on Saturday but he will be up for a new challenge tomorrow. Likewise Tango and Hutch. The latter got praise from NH so that ensures he will keep his place. I don’t think the same can be said about Joe. He was up against it on Saturday and did not shine. Danny is waiting patiently in the wings for his chance at Fratton Park. Casper will be up for it but I am not sure whether Sav has enough gas in the tank to go again. Wintle is waiting to step up. Esse is keen to start and so is Watmore but has Azeez staked his claim with his sensational late equaliser? Or maybe NH sees him as an impact sub?
Will NH persist with two up front or does George start as a ten? A tough call.

My thoughts are

Jensen
Leonard Tango Hitch Danny
Esse Wintle Casper Azeez
Tom Coburn

Subs Roberts Murray Wes Joe Sav Watmore Honeyman Emakhu Serb

Josh seemed to be struggling just before coming off on Saturday. Hopefully fit for tomorrow and Saturday as he makes a difference

Esse to replace Honeyman. With Bradders playing we don’t need two Duracell bunnies! 😉😂
I think you are right. Esse scares the shit out of defenders but think Bomber will start with Honeyman rather than Tom as the Duracell bunny and Wintle in for Savs.

I could be indulgent and post the team I would like but, let's be honest, Harris has won a lot more games than I have as Millwall manager and I trust his judgment over mine. I think it will be:

Jensen
Leonard Hutch Tanganga Dan
Wintle Sav
Esse Honeyman Azeez
Langstaff

There is a crazy amount of games in these next four weeks. The team will change a lot from game to game.

*The chances of me predicting the exact line-up is not good.

Agreed! 👍 😂

I dont really accept this "played Saturday" so must be exhausted.
This is their job, and from Saturday to Wednesday (after just having an extended international break ??) F me, they are not made of tissue.

Kevin Keegan said about playing for Liverpool in the 80's that they loved playing so many games, as this meant that they did less practising.....

I desperately hope I’m wrong, but I think we’re going to miss Cooper far more than people realise. He is absolutely vital to that team in so many ways. Got no idea why we resigned Hutch. As I said at the time, as soon as we need him he’ll be injured. A new young centre half is a priority in Jan in my book. We were playing so well on a roll as well. Fingers crossed we can hang around as we had a real chance with that team. f
