Tanganga!

Exactly. Any more money will go to the player and be built in to his contract. That’s where the bidding war will be
Thats not how it works. Its just to prevent the club from stopping a player moving if they want to and has nothing to do with the transfer fee. Anyway he has been a great asset for us this season. I hope he gets his dream team.

Or you could say he contributed to our 8th place finish which earns us a fair chunk. The higher up you finish the more you get.
I suppose the one thing we can't guess at is who would we have signed if he hadn't and then where would we have finished.
I know I enjoyed seeing such a quality player but if the clause rumour is true then it just shows how far off in reality we are from being a premiership club because we need quite a few Tanga's if we think we can finish in 17th spot in that league.

No clause he wouldn't have signed. Not sure how that lacks ambition on our behalf. We had a great return out of him for the season.

Tango got us out of shtook and gave us defencive stability last season , hope he makes his mind up pronto if he wants to leave.

Even if its true it doesn't mean it was us that set it and set it ridiculously low. Also we may have had to agree to that fee to get the player to sign.

I'm quite pissed off because I'm reading lots of negative things about us and seeing social media posts blaming the club for what's been agreed. We obviously agreed to the players financial demands otherwise he wouldn't have signed. If he goes for what's been touted it will mean he'll command a huge signing on fee.

How about some of our fans actually get behind the club and not stick the boot in over pure conjecture. As for him being worth £10/£15 million I very much doubt it at this moment in time. He's 25 and has played less than 100 competitive matches.

Agree 100%
I sure we could win the Premier League and some would still moan.
Whilst you could have accused the club in the past of letting players go cheaply, those days are behind us I think.
We seem to be being run very well from top to bottom at the moment, so let's just get on with doing our job, SUPPORTING OUR CLUB!!!

Amen brother.

If a player feels he is better than us or doing us a favour by playing for us then quite frankly, they can fuck off sharpish. That may be harsh on Tanganga because he has been fantastic for us, but the club comes first.

None of us really knows what's in players' contracts or what goes on between players, agents and clubs. Seem to remember a story involving Luis - why tackle when you can bite them - Swarez when he was with Liverpool that he had a £40m release clause in his contract. Arsenal bid £40m + £1 and Liverpool refused to do business with Swarez being sold to Barca for a much higher price.

While I'd prefer we got £128m for Tanga - going rate on social media, these things are swings and roundabouts. Esse didn't need to sign a new contract with us last summer and could have left around about now for nothing bar some measly compensation. Instead he did and 6 months later we cashed in for £14m

If he moves on it wouldnt be the end of the world. We'll have some credit in the bank with some premier clubs. Cresswell, Ballard and Tango all benefitted from there time at Wall. There clubs put them in the shop window when loaning them to us. We have a replacement in Crama plus the loan route to go down if needed. We have used the loan market prudently the last few year. Rowett used it well.
We survived and ultimately, thrived after they left. It's a good look for the club for any young up-and-comer looking to further their career.

Indeed. Certainly with Rowett being a defender those two left us better players from the time they spent with us. Because of the brand if football that both Harris and Rowett were associated with we were never going to get Strikers loaned to us but were ideal for defenders. It means we can spend our budget on attacking areas and utilise the loan market for defenders that we couldn't otherwise afford.

He hasn't asked for a transfer as far as we know. His agent is doing what he's paid to do get his client the best deal around hence the sell on clause. I think theres a lot of over reacting to Cawleys bit of info. The last thing we need is some divs having a go at the player and telling him to fuck off on social media. I mean twitter in this instance.

The club comes first for us, the players family comes first for them.

VassalsWall makes a very good point: None of us know what is in a player's contract.

Having said that, if it is simply a buy-out clause, why would we (Millwall) benefit from a bidding war? Let's say Man Utd bid £1.2m for Tanganga but Wolves bid £2m. We accept Wolves' offer but Tanganga says, 'Nothing doing. I'm going to United'. United have met the buy-clause what can we do to prevent Tanganga joining United?

There is a youtube video saying all three promoted clubs are after Tanganga

It is the second part of this
