Sunderland

Mackems seem very excited about this game. "top boys this top boys that".

One says "Using the train from London bridge you can attend the match and drink all day easily without coming into contact with a Millwall fan."

He's in for a shock when he gets on the train to South Bermondsey at London Bridge.

"Bizarre how this was a fixture in the 70/80s… maybe even 90s where demand wasn’t high 😬… now it’s one of the most popular away trips of the season, we could easily shift 5000".

They could shift 5,000 because a lot live down south and it's far easier to go when you are top of the league.
Look how many empty seats there were last season up at their place, you could argue that 5,000 fans paid and didn't show up, that wouldn't have happened if they were top then.

I think the fellow was only observing that The Den, in his opinion, was one of their more popular away trips this season as opposed to the past.

From our point of view, it doesn't matter where they come from if they are bringing a lot. The more the merrier for a good atmosphere. To be fair to them, they usually make a racket.

It should be a good day and with games against the likes of Sunderland, to me, that's what the Championship is all about.
