Sunderland

Sunderland have managed to reach an agreement with the FA to ensure Rigg (18 year old player) does not play for his country during this international break. He will instead rest due to the amount of football he has already played this term, meaning he will be fresh and ready to go by the time the Black Cats face Millwall at The Den on November 23.

Nice to see a young players wellbeing being put first.

Mate, we nearly had another one until i realised we ain't playing this weekend so deleted it :grinning: I think too many knocks to the head in my windmilling days has left me with a brain and memory like a sieve

:silly: :silly:

I have merged the threads into this one to keep things tidy.

Not sure about that mate. From what I've seen on here your memory appears encyclopedic and M says it's phenomenal too!

Yet Romaine Esse (19) is playing for the England under 20s and has played as many league games.

If he is that delicate maybe he is in the wrong game,
I cut my reply short cause me phone rang. I presume it's down to physical development. There's a fair difference between a 17 and 19 year old.

if he is taking a mans wage for doing his job then he should be available to do that job
Perhaps he's not so there's your answer! Perhaps his club and medical department know more than you do about his physical development. He's also returned from being injured recently.

He could be being paid in mars bars but it doesn't change the fact that he's just 17.

If he is playing in their first team there is not much wrong with his physical development, the Championship is a tough league and oppo teams target ANY weakness no matter how old.

Being in the first team squad i doubt he is being paid in mars bars and would bet he is on more than the majority of working men.

I didn't say there was. He's a boy and growing and developing, it affects him and it will be managed by professional people. If you want to ignore all that because of what you think he's earning then crack on.
