I wouldn’t say no. The only thing stopping us last time was the transfer fee. But we’re 2 years on from that deal he signed so they can’t be asking too much now.

He seemed like a good lad that the squad took to, and was happy to do a job wherever he was played. Technically a very good player and would certainly be an upgrade on some of the ‘squad players’ we’ve had in the past.

He did say at the time as his loan was coming to an end that he was open to moving to us permanently but I think with him just signing a new deal before he joined us and Barnsley wanting two million for him it didn’t happen but now he only has 12 months contract left he must be cheaper as I do not think Barnsley would like to let him go for nothing

I’m not sure what a player is supposed to do in that situation? He made it clear he wanted to sign for us permanently in the interviews he gave and what he posted on social media. Other than that, he was under a 3 year contract which all parties were privy to.

unless he behaved like a complete melt and refused to play (which is a black mark in my book anyway), there’s little more he could do except hope we came to an agreement with Barnsley.

i thought he was good when we had him on loan, although he missed a big part of the season through injury

His last 3 seasons have been injury interrupted - so much so, that he has played just 60 league games in those 3 seasons. I would say thats enough of a reason to avoid.
