Saudis taking over Millwall?

They all had good amounts of money put into them over a number of years to get there. They where invested in mostly by their owners but they where still invested in heavily. The money put into Brighton consistently to establish them covered new stadium a new elite development headquarters that includes a pretty big building that houses medical , training , education facilities etc dozens of pitches a little stadium , indoor pitches. It covers a massive area , fuck knows what it all cost. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. I don’t know if these clubs where invested in by their owners or whoever but they all had lots invested originally to achieve stability. I don’t know if I would like or want any Arab money in the club but wouldn’t be a shock or surprise if we did get some money injected into the club along the line. Doubt it would change our long term goals or plans.
Brighton is owned and funded by very very rich man who also happens to be a fan. Tony bloom, made his fortune from gambling, creating gambling apps and other techy stuff. They went down the moneyball root.

Scouted South America and other far fetched countries for talent and potential. They bought Curcuella from a Spanish side for £18 million and sold him to Chelsea 2 seasons later for £65 million. They used computer programs and number crunching stats based intelligence to locate the next potential money spinner. The profits they made went towards the stadium and training ground. The owner didn't just pump his own money in. They were pretty much self sufficient because of the strategy they had

Brentford owners did similar but focused more on youth rejects from the likes of Barcelona and Madrid.

Signed from Getafe for £18 million, sold a year later to Chesea for £54
Hi worked for Tony Bloom for years, the analytics machine he has in the background is the best in the world. He was always going to succeed, he literally doesn't sleep. Top, top man.

Shrewd fella and has run it all very well. I think Brentford did the moneyball route as well. I think most clubs involve it in some way now.

How is his program better than others and are they designed or built individually for whoever wants them? Just curious as don’t know a lot about them and you sound like you do.

Shrewd fella

The owner of Brentford worked with Tony Bloom and stole hes IP and started a rival company in sporting analytics usings Tonys model, massive rivals now. same thing if you have the analytics you have a huge advantage.

So each clubs system is designed individually but off the same blueprint or requirements?

I had a place down there a while back. Heard lots about him and nothing but positive stuff. He's literally a down to earth humble fan that's living his dream. Great to pictures of him sitting with fellow fans in the away end.

Those 2 clubs had the advantage over everyone with their data strategy, deservedly so, because they were the first to use it , everyone else has been playing catch up since.
That is why we can't compare ourselves to them.
If you want to use Bournemouth as a reason that we can do it then I think you have to use Luton in the same conversation to show what can also happen to a small club.

It's in house, researchers watching every single game 24/7 in every country logging every detail. When you see the markets move it's after they've made a bet!
Surprising, I thought it would be some kind of automated monitoring system .

Don’t worry, I read that he’s now interested in Sunderland!
I suspect that there was never anything very much in this story. The Saudi lad has been touting to buy a football club for a while. The story could have been written about a good number of clubs. However, a story with Millwall in it will generate more clicks that one with Bristol Rovers or Preston. "Millwall" and just about any story is ideal for the likes of the Mail.

I like Brighton they have done well from what they were. Watched them back in the 80's when we stayed down Newhaven in the caravan. Their old ground was a dump. Alaways used to go in with the away fans. The last game I saw was in with Liverpool. Took a week to was away the stench.

Can’t remember when it was, but went to Brighton and we got all four seasons in one afternoon. I’m sure there was rain, snow and sunshine all through the match. We were in the open away end, and our fans in the seats were singing. “You’re getting wet in a minute”. Good day out.

So, according to the perma-tanned, pseudo-intellectual, former Palace chairman and full-time dickhead Simon Jordan, Turki Alalshikh is definitely interested in a potential deal for us and also Southampton. Whether it amounts to anything is another matter, but the rumours appear to have some legs.

More from Jordan on Talksport and I quote: "He (Turki Alalshikh) actually likes the whole 'No One Likes Us' mentality around Millwall and that appeals to him."

I can see Mr Goodwin now wearing a Keffiyeh everywhere it goes - as long as of course it made hima fast buck at someone elses expense

Yeah, I heard that Simon Jordan babble, Robbo. I won't post the link, but if anyone is interested, it's up on the TalkSport YouTube channel.

So hope this is not true

We are so lucky to have the Berlysons as our owners not all the money in the world could replace a father then his son who have Millwall running through their veins

99% of fans of other clubs would be excited with this rumour

I doubt 1% of our fans would like to see this happen

No thanks from me
Me neither
