Saudis taking over Millwall?

I think Millwall brothers that many of you are greatly underestimating, the financial wherewithal of the Berylsons. John‘s wife and James‘s mother is the daughter and one of the four children of Richard Smith. The Smiths wealth reaches into the billions, much more than one. They are from Chestnut Hill, and maybe that name strikes a familiar cord. They have the ability to put together a financial package at any time to complete the REGEN. The REGEN finances are not a question. It’s a matter of when and if they want to, not ability. Millwall seems to be a wonderful and treasured diversion for them, and may it long continue. They seem to be wonderful people.

A very illuminating post. Thank you.

Yes. The talk is that John was more reserved but James really wants to go for it on the football front but is held back by ffp

It's the philanthropic attitude of the family that benefits us as well, I'm not sure there are better owners in British football at the moment and certainly are at the other end of the spectrum to the arab when it comes to ethics.

Heard this morning from what I would describe as a very reliable source, that’s it’s all a load of b#llocks and there had been no approach at all. That was from x2 weeks ago.

So upholding the clubs tradition of being dysfunctional and unique, if the story is true then we'll have an ownership model that is 55% Jewish owned and 45% Arab owned.

Only at Millwall

The only confirmed conversation I read about was between the arab and simon jordan, where the arab was interested in buying a Championship club, jordan told him he thought Wednesday would be a good club for him but the arab wanted a club down south and that Southampton and us interested him.
The rest seems to be the media having very little to write about and social media believing everything they want to believe.

I would say that his legitimate twitter/X feed had a few Millwall posts too though

We don't know why but that was around the time he told jordan that he was interested in us and like the perceived attitude of the fans.
Perhaps it was a way to test the reaction of fans but there hasn't been any confirmation of him being in talks with our club, I know there was a quote saying Millwall isn't for sale but I can't remember if that was an official quote.

Was and still is FLW click bait.

Yeah, especially when they post shit like this:

"Coming from one of England’s biggest cities, it would be fair to suggest that Bristol City are a so-called ‘sleeping giant’, with last season’s play-off qualification their first finish in the top six of the Championship since they reached the play-off final back in 2008."

:grinning:

Seems to be more to it, rumour is they are also buying Biggin Hill airport and plan to build a Hilton Hotel there for away teams.

I seem to remember John Berylson turning down a Middle East consortium in 2012 and a few years later he told the Chinese to do one.

HA ha here we go again; Another load of click bait for you all,

John Textor appears keen to remain in English football and could now step in at Millwall, Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic’s Champions rivals. The Owls

According to BBC Sport Lyon have been relegated to Ligue 2 because of the poor state of their finances and John Textor is their owner.

Doesn’t bode well for any English club he would take over :shake:
