So we're just waiting on Zidane now then?
Wonder if Messi fancies a season at the Den. He'd obviously have to fight for his place and leave the flash stuff out but could worth a cheeky £500k bid. Messi at Manzes Peckham then the p12 straight to the Den. Reckon that'll be the deal clincher for him.

The only thing that could scupper this deal is if it turns out that he turns his pie upside down before eating it. We don't want commoners with no panache anywhere near Peckham. We have high standards and etiquette to adhere to.

As Rodez hosts Boulogne-sur-Mer for Matchday 4 of Ligue 2 this Friday evening, one of its players who was supposed to be in the blood and gold squad will ultimately be absent. Because he's leaving for England.

As we've already told you here, the Rodez transfer window is going to be busy right up until the end. And this Friday, three days before the summer window closes, 20-year-old midfielder Derek Mazou-Sacko, a starter in the first three matches of the Ligue 2 season, is on the way out.

He was initially expected to be in the squad to face Boulogne, but will not be among the 18 blood and gold players called up. And for good reason: according to our information, he is heading to England to make final adjustments with a view to signing a contract with Championship (second division) club Millwall FC. While his contract with Rodez ran until 2027, and his value on the reference website transfermarkt was €400,000, the move would be made for around half a million euros, according to our information. Mazou-Sacko, who arrived on a free transfer from Troyes a year ago, has thus played 34 Ligue 2 matches and one Coupe de France for RAF.

With right-back Mohamed Bouchouari joining Casablanca this week and striker Ibrahima Baldé finally staying (for how long?) after his medically aborted transfer to Bruges, a huge squad clean-out is taking place this summer, both in depth and length. Especially since until Monday, the club was still expected to see at least one player leave, even if nothing is as advanced as it was for Mazou-Sacko this Friday.

Not sure I see this as the experienced CM we were hoping for. Still would like to see Browne through the door - maybe his connections with AN could swing it!
