QPR Home

Correct QPR stopped giving out the lower tier 2 seasons ago so they could get more of their own fans in. Millwall it seems couldn’t care about that.
That's my recollection plus the views from some parts of the away end are shit!

They want to spend the extra dosh they'll make on a big fence to split the away end down the middle. For the size of our stadium we must have the largest away end in the championship. Give them a corner with shit facilities, no hot water or hand dryers (like what we have!)
One of the great things about the old place was just what a complete horror show it was for visiting supporters. I've had a few, very seasoned, hardened supporters of other clubs recount their visits to the old place over the years. Not hooligans but seasoned supporters who had been away almost everywhere.
Just getting to the ground was a scary experience for them. Walking past boozers with mobs of us outside looking out for the newcomers. Surrounded once in the ground, and surges of our lot along the halfway. Often bombarded. Then trying to safely make a station afterwards.
I've had more than one opposition supporter say 'I went there once.... Never again. Fuck that.' Terrific!

This is a good point.

Given the ground is restricted to c.18,800/19,000 ish .. away fans getting over 3,000 tickets is quite a significant amount.

It is over 15% of the capacity. Looked at another way, if we could use every seat, the away end takes up just over 20% of the capacity in the grounds current lay out; ie only away fans can use the North Stand.

Apply that across other grounds and that would mean we'd get 12,000 tickets at West Ham, 15,000 at Old Trafford, 8,000 at Stamford Bridge, 5,000 at Selhurst Park, 5,400 at The Valley and so on...

Now that there is enough interest in games to sell over 15,000 tickets to Millwall fans, the club do need to think about the North Stand and sorting something out.

I was disorganised for both Norwich and QPR and missed out on tickets. Yes, my fault.. but I'm not a fair weather fan. It is a bit frustrating to see likes of Norwich and QPR lapping it up at The Den these days, whilst actual Millwall fans are locked out.

I've suggested before, you could take out the first row or two of upper tier & put netting up to stop missiles etc.

The concourse can be split, so that Millwall fans can gain access by one of the corners (huge - as put in for concerts) and share facilities with another stand / outside facilities.

Whilst away fans use their own access and facilities in North Stand. Remember, there would be a reduced number of them - only 2,300 odd.

Millwall fans at both ends may help our shoddy home form!! Away fans are having too much of a party these days.

We don't seem to get as many away tickets compared to other clubs so,I say fcuk um,give them only 2,000 and get our fans in the North stand.

Agreed.

Before it would have been too much hassle to properly and permanently split the North Stand, but these days we can sell more than 15,000 for most games.

It would also help the team to have Millwall fans behind both goals. Rather than likes of Pompey and Norwich have a gay old time at our expense. The Den is becoming some sort of away day party venue, as it's London and we give a big allocation now.

No. Split the upper and lower tiers. Millwall on the lower and able to access via the corners. 2,300 away fans in upper, using North Stand facilities. Put in the measures needed.

Get 17,000 Millwall fans in the ground for games like Norwich, QPR and Oxford.

If we in future some games don't look like selling out in home ends, but we are playing a team that can bring 3,000 plus, then make it so North Stand can be opened up to do that.

The Old Den, ironically was far better set up for this. I remember the whole of the Ilderton Road End being given over to away teams like Manchester United and Newcastle (even West Ham)... Whilst other times only a corner was and Millwall were behind that goal (like Blackburn).

Seems mad we moved to a stadium that restricts us more than the old one!

This is from the recent fans forum

Stadium Segregation and Stand Changes -
Plans were discussed to create a permanent physical segregation line within the awaystand to allow more flexible ticket allocation.
• Structural works and safety approval would be required.
• These changes cannot be implemented mid-season.

Mark Fairbrother also said he only wanted 2,000 away fans.

TBF no one fair minded would demand the club does it mid season, but it is good that they recognise that a need to sort the north stand out should be a priority.

The fan base is more engaged than it has been since the 1960s. We need to keep that up. My mate (an armchair Spurs fan) likes bringing his kid along these days. The kid is a proper paid up Wall fan now, with a collection of tops etc that he wears out and about. He wants a season ticket. They also missed out on QPR tickets. Now I'm not berating the club for that at all, that's not my point. But it would be great if we had 2,000 extra seats for Millwall fans these days.

And as said, it will hopefully help home form. Mark is right to only want 2,000 away fans. The Den can't be turned into a party venue for away teams on the piss in London. If we can sell those extra tickets to Millwall fans, Wall fans should have them!

But, make it so it can be reallocated if need be... Just like the Old Den could. If we are playing someone in a dead rubber and they can sell 3,000 plus, let them have that.

But the North Stand needs to be on our terms now. And renamed to reflect it's a home area too imo.

Remember when Leicester fans, I believe, took Millwall to court over restricted view. The floodlights in the corner.

Seem as qpr wont give us the lower tier at there ground why should we give them it at the den if we couldnt fill it fair enough but obviously we would being in the position were in.

Oxford getting just over 2000 tkts at ours, so I’d guess we’re hoping to split the north stand for the final home league game

That is the initial allocation we give now and we will probably give them another 1,000 if they want them.
The problem putting 2 sets of fans in that stand is the concourse and behind the stand and I can't see it being allowed with 2,000 away fans there.
The only hope of getting some of us in there is that they don't bring many and that scenario would only be if they were already relegated and that won't be decided anytime soon.
The game could turn out to be a friendly with both sides already knowing where they will finish.

Yes.

The club needs to put in actual building work to make it so that Millwall fans on the Lower Tier can access the Dockers and Kitchener's Stand for facilities, whilst away fans from the upper can use the North Stand facilities in a segregated way.

It is possible, but needs thinking through etc.
