For some reason this game has got the juices flowing bringing back memories from over the decades....
In the 90's?Remember going to pompey a few years ago, listening to music tapes in the car. Didn’t hear that the game had been cancelled till we got there. Bloody waste of time.

I think that would be the one, we got to the ground and a WPC told us it was postponed. In the 90's?
I think we were 30 minutes from the ground when they called it off, around 1 o'clock?
I used to have an 8 track in the car, so it shows I’m getting on a bit.Just a FEW years ago
“I know this much is true”one of ours ( Tony Hadley lookalike out of Peckham ) led our lot past the two coppers trying to stop our path but failing miserably. For sure, they were waiting as the Peckham pop star sparked out their Howard jones ( big old lump too) lookalike in dungarees
Almost exactly the same thing happened when we went down there in 94ish but with the well know spurs lad who was always with us (SS). It had kicked off in the street near the station, old bill got in between us and separated us, SS was in the no mans land bit, old bill got hold of him and Pompey were all shouting “he’s one of ours” SS was saying “nah I’m with them” pointing to us. old bill was a bit confused but luckily worked out he was with us and threw him in with us. Must be a tactic they’ve used a lot.Arsenal bod with us got amongst their young lot with old bill not allowing him in with us, “ don’t be silly Steve you’ll get nicked” dragging him back into them clumping him in the back with sly digs so the old bill couldn’t see it, eventually we got him back with us …
I’m no good with years but remember an fa cup 0-0 down there went off mainly with ob after the game us ripping down fences them full riot gear first time I can remember seeing riot shields at a game they still backed off on walk back to the stationAlmost exactly the same thing happened when we went down there in 94ish but with the well know spurs lad who was always with us (SS). Probably because he was black they worked out he was with us. Pompey were rare in the fact that they didn’t seem to have any black or mixed race lads in their ranks. Most firms did back then.
A certain fella used to round a few of us up and wait for them to arrive at Waterloo and chance our arm. Had good and bad outcomes but always got entertained. Always respected them, they travelled fairly well unlike certain other mobs and never made a noise about things.Waterloo... run pompey run.
Tonight's report of Jordan Archer being beaten from 25 yards out, sounds familiar? Should keep those juices stewing. For some reason this game has got the juices flowing bringing back memories from over the decades....
I watched the game. There isn’t a goalkeeper alive who would have saved that shot. It was one of the best I’ve ever seen.Tonight's report of Jordan Archer being beaten from 25 yards out, sounds familiar? Should keep those juices stewing.
After reading his comment, I watched the Sky Highlights and agree with BP , albeit I don’t know if it’s one of the best he’s ever seenI watched the game. There isn’t a goalkeeper alive who would have saved that shot. It was one of the best I’ve ever seen.
Went on sale today for all season ticket holders (unusually early for one of our away games) no points restrictions.
Can someone put a link up? (That’s you Peckham )
