That was our 8th consecutive season in the championship.

Its now 4 times that we've finished 8th. Our highest position since being back in this league.

Our previous 8th place finishes were done on 68 points twice and 72 points once. 72 points is our best tally and done in our first season back in the championship---2017/18.

Did you miss An Asterisk after the number of Refs?

That is statwankery at it's finest. However, it means absolutely fck all cos Peckham failed to mention how many times trains to SB from LB were cancelled vs the previous season, which throws a spanner in the works when comparing league attendances - just sayin' :grinning::grinning::grinning:

Peckham quite good read.

However whats relevant to these imho is where we fiished in the league for the amounts of goals scored and conceded.

So i suspect in 7 of those eight seasons are defence is in the top quarter of the league consistently. Conversly on goals scored i reckon we are cetainly in the bottom third foe each of those seasons.

I applaud your dedication to the noble art of statwankery sir. I doff my hat in your direction.
We're the 2 non inept refs at home or away.
Don't really care just thought I'd give you something else to do.
It's a fucking long while till it all begins again , if I had hair I'd be starting to pull it out.
Normally takes a couple of weeks before boredom sets in , but it started the day after Burnley. FFS.

As others have said, it’s a long wait until the new season.
Maybe you should have started a thread entitled ‘A stat a day’ and kept us all guessing what the next one would be.

Anyhow, tremendous statwankery at its absolute finest.

A good day to you. sir.

The stat that screams out to me here is the assists, or lack of.
If the top is Azeez on 5, this would explain the lack of goals. Creation has to improve. Top players in this division hit double figures. It's not that we don't have players capable of hitting this mark, the issue is keeping them fit!
