I’m jointly responsible for organising a joint Ladies/Seniors golf event at my club.

As normal, the Ladies already have their 20 signed-up but the Seniors are languishing behind.

I approached one member who said he would play if I wore a palace shirt.

My reply was “you can have sex with my wife but there’s no way I’ll wear a palace shirt”

As an aside, the club opened a rebuilt and refurbished veranda this afternoon.

When I arrived all the seats and tables were occupied.

If I’d realised it was going to be that popular and crowded I’d come up earlier and put some towels on the seats
