All-in-all we have been pretty successful with transfers/ loans over the last few seasons, but Nesbet is one that we got badly wrong.

Easy with hindsight but there was plenty at the time which imo said, 'Avoid': Rumours were that any number of clubs were interested in him: Celtic, Rangers, Sunderland, etc. but they all backed off.

Perhaps that was because rumours also abounded that he had a bad attitude, wasn't keen on training and was lazy and petulant. Throw in the fact that he was returning from a bad injury and had turned us down previously, then imo this was a £2m risk too far.

Still, at least he's now off our hands for the season (hopefully).
