Magnificent memories

Leeds Away 87/88 (promotion season to Division 1) the Authorities had already either banned us from travelling up or the FA refused to put on football specials for us but yet a good 1,500 turned up. Met in the Eliza Doolittle pub just off Euston Road early afternoon, as we pulled into Leeds the old bill swarmed on us ( plain clothed/uniformed) as we were herded to waiting busses one of theirs poked his nut through the old bill escort and said “nice try lads” he was told to fuck off both by wall and the plod. Put on busses and on arrival at Elland Road a firm of Millwall went AWOL looking for a pub they was meant to be in Somewhere behind the peacock pub.. the game was the longest 90 minutes I’d ever known and prior to the final whistle a police inspector came into our end (the seats upper tier behind the goal) telling everyone a special train had been booked to take us back to King’s Cross, so no hanging about ( load of bollocks) train to Doncaster, waited ages, then train to Peterborough, before catching the milk train to King’s Cross, absolutely knackered can recall buying the daily mirror outside the station with the back page headline reading “Top Cats” referring to our league position after our result up there, straight to work from there think I skipped up drury lane that morning 😃🦁

The whole of the 1985 FA cup run was amazing. Proud to say I went to every game

Weymouth away 3-0, we were banned, I managed to get in, got a mate in Plymouth to get some tickets posted to him, then on to us - think there was around 100-150 of us.
Barnet at home, 1-0 pretty dull afair
Palace after a replay - 1-1 then 2-1,Took over Selhurst Park as per usual
Chelsea away 3-2, bonfires on the terraces, Speedie missing a penalty and a pure evil atmosphere
Leicester at home 2-1, where they had Lineker and Alan Smith up front and we had 16,000 at The Den (felt & sounded like 160,000), usual home gate awas around the 5,000 mark.
Then Luton away 1-0 defeat, what can I say. Free to get in as well, after the turnstiles were smashed in. What a night to say that I was there.

Decent write up here, but I really don't get the "other London fans turned up, Chelsea & The Vermin" I can honestly say that I never saw, met or talked to anyone other than Millwall.
Never met any Millwall fans since, that saw, met or talked to anyone other than Millwall.

load of rubbish as you said mate,i have followed the lions from the 60s and have never wall joining up with anyone especially the vermin ffs

chesterfield away to keep is up and we won 1 nil, and recall getting of the train and crossing the bridge to see a load of man u melting away. must have been one of thier fan clubs from that area.
at the end of the game all on the pitch a good day

semi final at old trafford what a atmosphere, hull city away when we went up, fa cup giant killings etc
